WLB-89462 (WLB89462) is a potent, highly selective sigma-2 receptor (σ2R) ligand with Ki of 13 nM, >100-fold selective over σ1R (Ki=1777 nM).
WLB-89462 shows excellent selectivity in a panel of 180 additional targets (IC50>50 uM), and lack of hERG inhibition.
WLB-89462 (1-10 uM) exerts neuroprotective effect and fully reverses the neurotoxic effect of the MPP+ in the MPP+-induced neurodegeneration in vitro model in rat dopaminergic neurons.
WLB-89462 (10 mg/kg for 10 days) shows neuroprotective activity on short-term memory impairment induced by hippocampal injection of Aβ peptide in rats.
