S 38093 is a brain-penetrant H3 receptor antagonist/inverse agonist that shows procognitive properties in vivo.
S 38093 induces synergistic memory-enhancing effect in mice combined with Donepezil.
S 38093 induces a reversal of age-dependent effects on hippocampal BDNF-IX, BDNF-IV and BDNF-I transcripts and increases vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression, increases adult hippocampal neurogenesis in vivo.
