Manogepix (APX001A, E1210) is a potent antifungal agent targeting the fungal glycosylphosphatidylinositol acyltransferase Gwt1, demonstrates potent in vitro activity against clinical isolates of both Candida (Candida spp, MIC50/90=0.008/0.12 mg/L) and Aspergillus species.
Manogepix (APX001A, E1210) inhibits Gwt1 activity and blocks the inositol acylation step during the synthesis of glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored proteins in the fungal cell wall.
Manogepix (APX001A, E1210) demonstrates broad-spectrum antifungal activity against common species of Candida, Cryptococcus, Aspergillus, and MDR strains such as C. auris, Trichosporon, Lomentospora, Scedosporium, and rare molds, which are often difficult to treat due to their inherent resistance to many antifungals.
