MIPS2673 is a potent selective inhibitor of Plasmodium M1 aminopeptidase with Ki of 211 nM and 6.4 nM for PfA-M1 and PvA-M1, demonstrates antimalarial activity against a panel of drug-resistant P. falciparum strains.
MIPS2673 is non-inhibitory against the PfA-M18 (Ki >500 µM) and PfAPP (Ki >40 µM) recombinant metalloaminopeptidases.
MIPS2673 shows antimalarial activity against P. falciparum 3D7 parasites with EC50 of 324 nM.
MIPS2673 inhibits the key role of PfA-M1 in haemoglobin digestion.
