GB1908 is a potent, selective and orally available galectin-1 (Gal-1) inhibitor with Kd of 57 nM and 72 nM for human and mouse Gal-1 respectively in fluorescence polarization assays.
GB1908 shows >100-fold selectivity over all galectin subtypes except the C terminus of galectin-4 (8-fold).
GB1908 potently inhibits galectin-1-induced apoptosis in Jurkat cells with IC50 of 0.85 uM, 3-fold improvement over that observed for GB1490 (TD-139).
GB1908 (30 mg/kg b.i.d) significantly inhibits LL/2 primary lung tumor growth in syngeneous mouse model.
