Dihydroartemisinin (DHA, Artenimol, β-Dihydroartemisinin) is an antimalarial agent and semi-synthetic derivative of Artemisinin, also has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effect, directly binds to YTHDF2 and inhibits its function, induces autophagy by inhibiting NF-κB activation, induces iron-dependent cell death (ferroptosis) in tumor cells.
Dihydroartemisinin exerts cytotoxic effects and inhibits hypoxia inducible factor-1alpha activation in C6 glioma cells.
Dihydroartemisinin shows selective inhibition of ovarian cancer cell growth, apoptosis induction, and G2 arrest
Dihydroartemisinin promotes neurological rehabilitation after ischemic stroke by targeting TAK1-CREB1 signaling pathway to inhibit ferroptosis.
Dihydroartemisinin inhibits Epstein-Barr virus reactivation and replication targeting lytic proteins.
DHA significantly alleviated arthritis and inhibited neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation both in vivo and in vitro.
