Collismycin A does not bind to other metal ions such as Zn(II), Mn(II), Cu(II), and Mg(II).
Collismycin A exhibits cell growth inhibition in various cancer cell lines (HeLa, IC50=0.3 uM).
Collismycin A induces cell cycle arrest at the G1 phase with a marked decrease of cyclin D1, affects the glycolytic pathway due to the accumulation of HIF-1α.
Collismycin A is active against a variety of bacteria (MICs=6.25 and 100 μg/mL) and fungi (MICs=12.5-100 μg/mL).
