ZLN-005 (ZLN005) is a small molecule peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ coactivator-1α (PGC-1α) transcriptional activator, increases expression of the PGC-1α gene and downstream genes by activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK).
ZLN-005 improves glucose uptake and fatty acid oxidation without obvious cytotoxicity in L6 myotubes.
ZLN-005 produces antihyperglycemia and antihyperlipidemia effects and increases insulin sensitivity in db/db mice.
