ZK824859 (ZK-824859) is a potent, selective urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) inhibitor with IC50 of 79 nM (human uPA), displays little to no inhibitory activity against tPA and Plasmin (IC50>1 uM).
ZK 824859 is 5 fold less potent and has lost selectivity in mouse: uPA IC50=410 nM; tPA IC50=910 nM; plasmin IC50=1600 nM.
ZK824859 demonstrates efficacy in either acute or chronic mouse EAE models.
