Y1693 is a potent, orally active small-molecule RANKL inhibitor, effectively prevents RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis (89% inhibition at 1 uM) and bone resorption.
Y1693 also suppressed the expression of osteoclasts (OCs) marker genes.
Y1693 demonstrated good tolerability and efficacy in an orally administered mouse model of osteoporosis as well as the ability to rescue alveolar bone loss in vivo caused by periodontal disease.
