WRX606 is an orally active, allosteric inhibitor of mTOR complex 1 (mTORC1) with Kd of 1.3 uM, forms a ternary complex with FK506-binding protein-12 (FKBP12) and FKBP–rapamycin-binding (FRB) domain of mTOR.
WRX606 inhibits the phosphorylation of not only the ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1 (S6K1, IC50=10 nM) but also eIF4E-binding protein-1 (4E-BP1, IC50=0.27 uM).
WRX606 efficiently suppressed tumor growth in mice without promotion of metastasis.
WRX606 effectively inhibits the replication of both Influenza A virus (IC50=12 nM) and human coronavirus 229E.
WRX606 affects broad stages of the viral life cycle leading up to release.
