Umifenovir (Arbidol) is a broad-spectrum antiviral compound that blocks viral fusion, demonstrates activity against a number of enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, including influenza A and B viruses, HCV and SARS-CoV-2.
Umifenovir inhibits membrane fusion of influenza virus. specific antiviral action against both influenza A and influenza B viruses.
Umifenovir exhibits modulatory effects on the immune system, stimulates a humoral immune response, induces interferon-production, and stimulates the phagocytic function of macrophages.
