Tubulin inhibitor 89 is a novel potent colchicine-site inhibitor of tubulin, has significant cytostatic activity against human Hela (cervical) and HCT116 (colonic) tumor cells with IC50 of 1.13 and 0.65 uM respectively, interferes with the assembly of microtubules by inhibiting PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.
