Toremifene (Z-Toremifene, NK 622 free base) is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), inhibits ebolavirus (EBOV) entry after internalization, shows potent antiviral activity in HepG2 cell lines with IC50 of 25.5 nM.
Toremifene broadly inhibits filovirus infection in vitro, shows activity against native Ebola virus species as well as MARV, Sudan ebolavirus (SUDV).
Toremifene inhibitor EBOV pseudovirus infection studies in cells overexpressing the EBOV entry factor NPC1, compared to parental cells.
