TMPRSS2 inhibitor BC-11 hydrobromide is a specific, covalent transmembrane protease serine 2 (TMPRSS2) inhibitor with IC50 of 1.44 uM in vitro TMPRSS2 enzymatic assay.
BC-11 is inactive against three proteases (furin, CATSB, and CATSL).
BC-11 showed modest inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 entry with EC50 of 66 uM.
A combination of the direct- and indirect-acting antivirals (BC-11 and AHN 1-055) demonstrated better viral entry inhibition than either compound alone.
