TGN-020 (TGN020) is a potent, selective aquaporin 4 (AQP4) inhibitor with IC50 of 3 uM.
TGN-020 significantly reduced the cortical infarct volume, with no effect on basal ganglia infarct volume.
Pretreatment with TGN-020 significantly reduced the severity of brain edema associated with brain ischemia.
TGN-020 significantly increases regional cerebral blood flow in vivo, TGN-020 can alleviate spinal cord edema, inhibit glial scar formation, and promote axonal regeneration, conferring beneficial effects on recovery in rats.
