Saredutant (SR48968) is a potent and selective non-peptide antagonist of the neurokinin A (NK2) receptor.
Saredutant (SR48968) displays >1,000-fold selectivity over NK3 receptor, and does not affect the effects of bradykinin, angiotensin or bombesin.
Saredutant (SR48968) inhibits the bronchoconstriction induced by neurokinin A in guinea pigs>
Saredutant (SR48968) inhibits the cholinergic response of the isolated guinea-pig main bronchus to electrical field stimulation.
