ST-539 is a potent mitophagy inducer and selective USP30 inhibitor (IC50=0.37 uM), does not inhibit USP1, 8 and 9 at 10 uM.
ST-539 restored TIM23 and TOM40 degradation in in Hela-Parkin cells, in which PINK1 and Parkin are required.
ST-539 has minimal effect on mitochondrial function in cells.
ST-539 (25 mg/kg, i.p.) induced tissue specific mitophagy in vivo.
