SSI-4 is a highly potent, selective inhibitor of lipogenic enzyme stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 (SCD1) with IC50 of 1.9 nM in in vitro enzymatic inhibition assays.
SSI-4 displays excellent selectivity against 468 known kinases, with only 1 kinase (CDKL2) at concentration of 100 nM for binding.
SSI-4 impaired tumor cell proliferation in 15/19 different tumor cell lines representing a broad spectrum of cancers, while normal cells remained unaffected.
Oral administration of SSI-4 resulted in growth inhibition of A498 ccRCC tumors, also reduced pulmonary metastasis formation of ACHN ccRCC.
