SNAP-7941 is a selective, high-affinity, and competitive MCH1 receptor (MCHR1) antagonist with Ki of 15 nM.
SNAP-7941 inhibits food intake stimulated by central administration of MCH, reduces consumption of palatable food, decreases in body weight in rats with diet-induced obesity.
SNAP-7941 also produces effects similar to clinically used antidepressants and anxiolytics in animal models of depression/anxiety.
