S-3448 is a potent, specific soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) activator with EC50 of 0.68 uM, preferentially activates the NO-insensitive heme-oxidized form of sGC.
S-3448 increases cGMP levels in cultured rat aortic smooth muscle cells.
S-3448 induces vasorelaxation of isolated endothelium-denuded rat aorta, porcine coronary arteries, and human corpus cavernosum with EC50 of 1-10 uM, elicits phosphorylation of the cGMP kinase substrate vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein at Ser239.
