RO 5256390 is a highly potent, selective and orally bioavailable trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1) full agonist with EC50 of 18 nM, >500-fold selectivity over human adrenergic α2A receptor.
RO 5256390 blocks psychostimulant-induced hyperactivity and produces a brain activation pattern reminiscent of the antipsychotic drug olanzapine in vivo, does not induce catalepsy or weight gain.
