RO-7 is a novel small molecule, broad-spectrum inhibitor of influenza acidic polymerase (PA) protein endonuclease activity with EC50 of 3.2-16 nM in MDCK cells.
RO-7 inhibits transcription and genome replication steps in the influenza virus cycle, demonstrates activity against NAI-resistant and -susceptible seasonal influenza A and B viruses.
RO-7 also shows activity against avian-origin A(H5N1), A(H7N9), and A(H9N2) influenza viruses.
