Plecstatin-1 is a specific ruthenium(arene) pyridinecarbothioamide targeting plectin, affects cytoarchitecture and shape of keratinocytes, inhibits tumor invasiveness.
Plectin is a scaffold protein and an important cytolinker that regulates keratin and tubulin networks.
Plecstatin-1 induced higher levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in HCT116 cells.
Plecstatin-1 showed anticancer activity against primary tumors in CT-26 colon and more so in the invasive B16 melanoma tumor model after oral administration.
