PAV-104 (PAV104) is a novel viral assembly inhibitor, shows potent anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity in Calu-3 cells with EC50 of 1.7 nM and EC90 of 23.5 nM, inhibits the oligomerization of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid.
PAV-104 is more potent than remdesivir (EC50 =7.9 nM and EC90 =218.1 nM).
PAV-104 exerts potent antiviral activity against a broad range of circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants in human primary airway epithelial cells (AECs).
PAV-104 specifically inhibits virus-like particle production, and blocks SARS-CoV-2 replication through targeting the viral assembly/budding process.
PAV-104 interacts with N and interferes with nucleocapsid oligomerization.
PAV-104 suppresses the 'maturation of nucleoprotein' signaling pathway reinforces inhibition of viral assembly/budding.
