Omilancor (BT-11) is a locally-acting, first-in-class, small molecule that selectively activates the Lanthionine Synthetase C-like 2 (LANCL2) pathway.
Through LANCL2 activation, Omilancor also modulates Treg stability and function through a two-layer mechanism: (1) regulation of FOXP3 activity through immunometabolic pathways, and (2) synergism with the IL-2/STAT5 signaling axis of Treg cells; omilancor regulates late-stage glycolysis and promotes oxidative metabolism in regulatory T cells (Treg).
Omilancor ameliorates disease severity, epidermal hyperplasia and acanthosis in an imiquimod-induced mouse model of psoriasis.
