ABCA1 inducer Cpd A (Cpd A) is a small molecule inducer of ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux that targets Oxysterol Binding Protein Like 7 (OSBPL7).
Cpd A displays little to no binding affinity to the CB1R (Ki>10 uM).
Cpd A increases plasma membrane ABCA1 in cultured human podocytes, and significantly increases ABCA1-dependent cholesterol efflux at 10 uM.
Cpd A significantly increased apoAI-mediated cholesterol efflux at 10 uM.
Cpd A protects from kidney injury in a mouse model of adriamycin-induced nephropathy.
