ODM-209 (ODM209) is a potent, selective, orally bioavailable inhibitor of CYP11A1 (cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme) with potential antineoplastic activity, inhibits the biosynthesis of pregnenolone.
ODM-209 inhibits the proliferation of hormone-positive tumor cells.
CYP11A1, a mitochondrial enzyme, catalyzes the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone (Preg), which is the first rate-limiting step in steroid hormone biosynthesis.
