IM-17 is a specific oxidative stress-induced necrosis inhibitor, inhibits necrotic cell death induced by H2O2 with IC50 of 1.0 uM in HL-60 cells, does not inhibit apoptosis induced by various anticancer drugs or Fas ligand, or necroptosis.
IM-17 has IC50 of 4.9 uM against H9c2 cells treated with TBHP.
IM-17 showscardioprotective effects in an isolated rat heart model and an in vivo arrhythmia model.
