NBD-556 (NBD556) is a potent HIV-1 entry inhibitor that blocks the gp120-CD4 interaction.
NBD-556 inhibits the fusion between HIV-1NL4-3-luc pseudotyped virus expressing HIV-1HXB2 (X4-tropic) envelope and U87-T4-CXCR4 cells with IC50 of 20 uM.
NBD-556 inhibits the laboratory-adapted HIV-1 strains IIIB, MN, and V32 with IC50 of 5-16 uM.
