MsbA inhibitor TBT1 is a novel small molecule lipopolysaccharide biogenesis inhibitor, inhibits MsbA transporter, an ATP-dependent flippase that translocates LPS across the inner membrane.
TBT1 causes mislocalization of LPS to the cell interior, inhibits Δ5 strain with MIC of 0.2 ug/ml.
TBT1 binds adjacent yet separate pockets in the MsbA transmembrane domains.
TBT1 is a LPS transport inhibitor and MsbA ATPase stimulator in strains from the Acinetobacter genus
