MLS8091 is a highly selective human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) inhibitor with EC50 of 0.4 uM against HCMV Towne strain, targets HCMV helicase-primase (H/P) complex.
MLS8091 shows no inhibition of herpes simplex 1 or 2 (HSV-1, 2), or mouse CMV (MCMV), and moderate activity against guinea pig CMV (GPCMV), with EC50 values of 3.6 ± 0.4 µM and 3.1 ± 0.1 µM in plaque and PCR assays, respectively.
