MKI-1 (MASTL inhibitor 1) is a small molecule MASTL (microtubule-associated serine/threonine kinase-like, Greatwall/GWL) inhibitor with IC50 of 9.9 uM.
MKI-1 (15 μM, 20h) inhibited the phosphorylation of ENSA in MCF7 and T47D cells, also inhibited the phosphorylation of ENSA in colcemid-induced mitotic MCF7 cells, did not modulate phosphorylated AKT, GSK-3β, and p70S6K.
MKI-1 inhibits various oncogenic properties of MCF7 cells and does not affect the viability of MCF10A cells.
MKI-1 reduces tumor growth and radiosensitivity of breast cancer cells.
MKI-1 reduces c-Myc stability through PP2A activation in MCF7 cells, inhibits meiotic resumption and spindle formation in mouse oocytes.
