MK-886 (L-663,536) is a potent, selective and orally active inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase-activating protein (FLAP) with IC50 of 30 nM.
MK-886 inhibits leukotriene biosynthesis in human polymorphonuclear leukocytes with IC50 of 3 nM.
MK-886 (10 mg/kg, i.v., 15 min before antigen challenge) suppressed the antigen-induced cysteinyl LT production by greater than 92% in sensitized guinea pigs.
