MAC13772 is a small molecule inhibitor of bacterial enzyme BioA with IC50 of 250 nM, the antepenultimate step in biotin biosynthesis, MAC13772 inhibits biotin biosynthesis.
MAC13772 is effective against antibiotic-resistant pathogens.
MAC13772 is capable of dampening the viability of carbapenem-resistant P. aeruginosa (CRPA).
MAC13772 interferes the production of pyocyanin, an important virulence factor of P. aeruginosa.
