LY379268 is a potent, selective group II metabotropic glutamate (mGlu) receptor agonist with Ki of 40.6 nM and 4.7 nM, EC50 of 3.91 nM and 7.63 nM for mGlu2 and mGlu3, respectively.
LY379268 displays no significant agonist or antagonist activity in cells expressing recombinant human mGlu1a, mGlu5a, mGlu4a, or mGlu7a receptors.
LY379268 selectively attenuate phencyclidine versus d-amphetamine motor behaviors in rats.
LY379268 is neuroprotective in gerbil global, but not focal, cerebral ischaemia.
