LY223982 (CGS23131, SKF107324) is a potent, selective chemotaxin leukotriene B4 (LTB4) receptor with IC50 of 13.2 nM against [3H]LTB4 binding to LTB4 receptor.
LY223982 blocks LTB4-induced (20 nM) release of formyl peptides (i.e., CHP), LTB4 and C5a with IC50 of 52 nM.
LY223982 is 189-fold more effective in displacing [3H]LTB4 than 35S-N-formyl-L-methionyl-L-leucyl-L-phenylalanine (FMLP) from their corresponding receptors on human neutrophils.
LY223982 is a potent antagonist of the aggregation of human neutrophils by LTB4 with IC50 of 100 nM.
LY223982 inhibits transient leukopenia induced in rabbits with LTB4 (ED50, 3 mg/kg), but not FMLP.
