L-291 (DDAH1 inhibitor L291) is a selective, competitive DDAH1 inhibitor with IC50 of <25 uM.
L-291 shows no direct inhibitory activity against NO synthase or effects on endothelium-denuded vessels; impairs vascular homeostasis, also reduces NO synthesis in cultured dorsal root ganglia neurons.
L-291 reduces both neuronal and behavioral measures of formalin-induced central sensitization after spinal application.
