Koumine is an alkaloid derived from Gelsemium elegans within antitumor, immunosuppressive, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties, inhibits osteoclastogenesis and prevents ovariectomy-induced bone loss via suppression of the MAPK signaling, also binds IGF2BP3 and promotes its proteasome-dependent degradation.
Koumine dose-dependently inhibits osteoclast formation and bone resorption without cytotoxicity in ovariectomized (OVX) mouse model.
Koumine suppresses osteoclastogenesis and protects against bone loss, an effect associated with inhibition of MAPK signaling.
Koumine suppresses gastric cancer (GC) cancer growth in vivo, markedly reduces collagen (COL21A1, COL3A1, COL13A1, and COL14A1) expression in GC cells and significantly increases T-cell infiltration into the tumors.
Koumine inhibits RANKL-induced ubiquitination and NF-κB activation to prevent ovariectomy and aging-induced bone loss.
