JNJ-42165279 is a highly selective inhibitor of fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) with IC50 of 70 nM for hFAAH.
JNJ-42165279 has no inhibition on CYPs and hERG at 10 uM.
JNJ-42165279 blocks FAAH in the brain and periphery of rats , causes an elevation of the concentrations of AEA, OEA, and PEA.
JNJ-42165279 demonstrates activity in the spinal nerve ligation (SNL) model of neuropathic pain; exhibited excellent ADME and pharmacodynamic properties.
