Indoluidin D is a potent selective dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) inhibitor, promotes myeloid differentiation and inhibits the proliferation of acute promyelocytic leukemia HL-60 cells.
Indoluidin D also suppresses cell growth in various other types of cancer cells.
Indoluidin D inhibits human DHODH activity in vitro.
The DHODH reaction product orotic acid can rescue indoluidin D-induced cell differentiation.
