ISO-1 is a potent inhibitor of Migration inhibitory factor (MIF) tautomerase activity with IC50 of 7 uM.
ISO-1 significantly inhibits the cytokine activity in vitro, inhibits TNF release from macrophages isolated from LPS-treated wild type mice but has no effect on cytokine release from MIF-deficient macrophages.
ISO-1 is the first small molecule inhibitor of MIF proinflammatory activities with therapeutic implications.
