IOWH-032 is a potent CFTR inhibitor (IC50=1.01 uM) in T84 and CHO-CFTR cell based assays for the treatment of cystic fibrosis.

IOWH-032 potentially serves as lead compound for development of new drugs for the treatment of cystic fibrosis.

IOWH-032 inhibits the dual ATPase and helicase activities of SARS-CoV-2 Nsp13 at low micromolar concentrations.

IOWH-032 interacts with the RNA binding interface, leading to displacement of nucleic acid substrate, but not bound ATP.

IOWH-032 is selective for coronavirus Nsp13 over microbial helicases from other superfamilies.
