ICA-069673 (ICA069673) is a novel potent, selective and orally active KCNQ2/Q3 (Kv7.2/Kv7.3) potassium channel opener/activator with EC50 of 0.69 uM, 20-fold selectivity over KCNQ3/Q5.
ICA-069673 displays no measurable activity against a panel of cardiac ion channels (IC50>30 uM for hERG, Nav1.5, L type channels, and KCNQ1) as well as no activity on GABA(A) gated channels.
ICA-069673 also robustly activates Kv7.4 channels, inhibits spontaneous phasic, pharmacologically induced, and nerve-evoked contractions in DSM isolated strips, decreases the global intracellular Ca(2+) concentration in DSM cells.
