Fulvestrant (ICI 182780) is a steroidal antiestrogen, and potent, specific estrogen receptor (ER) antagonist with IC50 of 0.94 nM.
Fulvestrant (ICI 182780) effectively inhibits the growth of ER-positive MCF-7 cells with IC50 of 0.29 nM.
Fulvestrant (ICI 182780) is a more effective inhibitor of MCF-7 growth than 4'-hydroxytamoxifen.
Fulvestrant (ICI 182780) exhibits antitumor activity in xenografts of MCF-7 and Br10 human breast cancers in nude mice.
