Ethanimidothioic acid (R5421) is an inhibitor of platelet scramblase activity.
R5421 has been widely used by other groups to determine the role of scramblase activity in other cells and systems including erythrocytes, viral infection and placental function.
R5421 inhibited A23187‐induced phosphatidylserine exposure in a time‐ and temperature‐dependent manner.
R5421 inhibited Ca2+ signalling from the PAR1, PAR4 and glycoprotein VI receptors as well as platelet αIIbβ3 integrin activation and α‐granule release.
