Ertiprotafib is a potent inhibitor of protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) with IC50 of 1.4 uM, also is a potent inhibitor of IkappaB kinase beta (IKK-beta, IKK-β) with IC50 of 400 nM.
Ertiprotafib significantly reduced the plasma FFA level in a rat obesity model.
Ertiprotafib activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)alpha and PPARgamma, acts as a insulin sensitizer developed for treatment of type 2 diabetes.
