Eggmanone (EGM1) is a potent, selective inhibitor of PDE4 with (IC50=72 nM) that antagonizes the Hedgehog signaling pathway;.
Eggmanone displays 40-50-fold selectiviyt over PDE3, PDE10, and PDE11.
Eggmanone causes selective activation of protein kinase A, regulates Gli processing and translocation, and inhibits the increase in the fraction of Gli2FL in the nucleus stimulated by SAG.
