Edelfosine is a synthetic lysophospholipid analog that selectively inhibits PLC with IC50 of 9.6 uM in fibroblasts and adenocarcinoma cells.
Edelfosine shows much weaker acitivity against PLD activity in NIH 3T3 cell membranes (IC50>100 uM).
Edelfosine reduces histamine -induced elevation of plasma noradrenaline and adrenaline in rats.
Edelfosine selectively induces apoptosis in tumor cells, suppresses the PCDH7 signaling pathway to prohibit brain metastases in the animal models.
