ECF inhibitor 1 is a specific small molecule inhibitor of energy-coupling factor (ECF) transporters, potentially acting as protein-protein interaction (PPI) modulator.
ECF inhibitor 1 is able to reduce translocation of the vitamin across the membrane with an IC50 value of 282 μM.
ECF inhibitor 1 (5 mM) is able to completely inhibit the transport of folate by ECF-FolT2.
ECF inhibitor 1 does not impact classical ABC transporters in general. inhibited the uptake of pantothenate via ECF-PanT in liposomes.
